Situated in the beautifully restored 17th‑century Royal Hospital Kilmainham, IMMA serves as Ireland’s national hub for modern and contemporary art. Since opening in 1991, it has amassed a collection of around 4,500 artworks spanning from the 1940s onward, featuring both Irish and international artists Surrounding gardens and courtyards, originally part of the hospital grounds, now provide serene outdoor sculpture displays and peaceful places to relax.
