The best photo spots in Ireland

Ireland is basically a photographer’s playground—rugged coasts, misty mountains, castles, and moody skies. Here are some of the best photo spots across Ireland, broken down by vibe so you can plan your shots.

Cliffs of Moher – Towering sea cliffs with crashing waves and epic sunset light, the Cliffs of Moher are the biggest attraction in the west. There are a lot of tourists, but the that doesn’t take away from their beauty. Hike, don’t hike, go to the gift shop- whatever you do, it’s an experience and one for the bucket list. #cliffsofmoher.

  • Slieve League Cliffs – Even higher (and less crowded) than Moher and unreal views. It’s a bit of a walk up to the top, but it’s so worth it. You can walk as far up - all along the cliffs as you want, the higher you go the better the views.. Sunrise and sunset are amazing too.

A family look out onto Slieve League.

Trinity College Dublin

Over 400 year old Trinity College is in the heart of Dublin and a must do and see tourist destination. You can take a lovely stroll across front square and watch people play cricket on the lawn. a fabulous unmissable spot. #trinitycollgedublin.

Gledalough- no matter what the weather it’s a photographers dream and also very instagrammable. Just an hour’s south of Dublin, Glendalo’s is fantastic any time of year and in any weather as you can see from my photos. #glendalough #wicklow. #visitglendalough.

The Lighthouse at Poolbeg

This is a fantastic walk and an amazing spot to take photos- either street style, portraits or landscapes. Worth a walk any time of year- and a swim, if you don’t mind the cold water.

  • Glendalough – Monastic ruins + lakes + forest trails

  • The trees- northern ireland

  • Trinity College

  • Howth cliffs

  • IMMA
